Information on the meeting, registration, hotel, tours, and travel will be collected here for your convenience. Some information will be provided via links to other pages, but basic information such as registration and hotel prices, tour descriptions, and deadlines will be updated here.

EHA Meeting Registration is divided into two categories: Student and Regular (anyone not currently a student)

Hotel Information
The 2023 EHA Meeting will be held at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel and Suites Pittsburgh-Downtown (One Bigelow Square, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, United States) from September 8-10, 2023. The rate of $169/night (exclusive of taxes) for the conference dates. You can book your hotel by clicking here: Economic History Association 2023 – Doubletree Hilton Pittsburgh Downtown. The conference rate expires after August 14. Special Note: For some international attendees, the rates shown in the online reservation system will include taxes and fees, but for domestic-based attendees, the room rate will be shown exclusive of taxes. Do be sure that in the final stages, you confirm that the rate shows $169. Tour and Excursion Information
Tour 1 – September 7th, 6:30pm – Ghost Tour of Pittsburgh – $15 ($5 for Students)
Discover Pittsburgh’s historic landmarks—with a spooky twist. During this small-group, history-themed ghost tour, you’ll explore the city by night listening to quirky and scary stories along the way. Highlights covered include Grant Street’s parade route, Hollywood history at Allegheny County Juvenile Court, and the ghost of the Frick Building.
This is a walking tour of approximately 1.5 miles and will last for 2 hours, so please dress appropriately. Attendees will meet in the lobby of the hotel where the tour will begin. Tour 2 – September 8th, 9:30am – Best of the Burgh Walking Tour – $15 ($5 for Students)
Come join and explore the heart of Downtown by foot with us, in a small group setting and with a local expert guide. Walk by and into must-see cultural and historical landmarks as well as iconic buildings! Discover beautiful squares and fascinating pieces of public art! We will highlight the Best of our Burgh but also point out unseen details and hidden gems. Walking down major avenues as well as turning into small alleyways will give you a great introduction to the very unique city of Pittsburgh.

Tour 3 – September 8th, 10:00am – The Strip District Food Tour – $25 for Regular ($5 for Students)
The ‘Burgh Bits and Bites Strip District tour is a late morning/early afternoon weekday tour featuring a behind-the-counter look at a variety of eateries in Pittsburgh’s historic market district. This tour links local history with the eating establishments peppered along Penn Avenue with taste samples from around the world including Italian pastries, Mediterranean and Polish specialties, European meats and cinnamon bread.
Attendees will meet in the hotel lobby and a bus will drive a short distance to the starting point of the tour. The remainder of the tour is a walking tour with a short bus ride back to the hotel.
