The Society of Fellows of the Economic History Association

The Economic History Association established a Society of Distinguished Fellows program in 2019.  A list of Fellows can be found on the EHA website.  The EHA program honors individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to the field of economic history.

The inaugural class of Fellows, inducted in the fall of 2019, consists of all living former presidents of the Economic History Association.  Subsequently, at every annual membership meeting of the Association, the incoming EHA president will automatically become a Fellow.

Up to two additional Fellows may be elected each year.  Individuals must be living at time of election in order to become Non-Presidential Fellows, but do not have to be members of the Economic History Association.  EHA members in good standing will have the opportunity to nominate individuals to be Fellows. Nominations can be made on the EHA website at any time.  The nomination process for a given year will run from May 1 through April 30.

All nominees will be forwarded to the EHA Nominating Committee, which will be responsible for composing a slate of candidates for consideration by the Electoral College of the EHA, which consists of all living EHA Fellows and the EHA Board of Trustees.  Newly elected Fellows will be announced at the annual membership meeting of the EHA conference.
